SUB:  ADTOI 8TH ANNUAL CONVENTION-CUM-EXHIBITION 2017 17TH AND 18TH NOVEMBER 2017 AT VISAKHAPATANAM, ANDHRA PRADESH

 

Eighth Annual Convention-cum-Exhibition of Association of Domestic Tour Operators of India (ADTOI) was inaugurated by the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, Mr. N. Chandrababu Naidu in the presence of  other dignitaries Ms. Bhuma Akhila Priya Reddy, Hon’ble  Minister of Tourism, Mr. Mukesh Kumar Meena, Secretary Tourism, Mr. Himanshu Shukla, MD, Andhra Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation Ltd., Govt. of Andhra Pradesh and Ms. Aashima Mehrotra, Director, Ministry of Tourism, Govt. of India, in a colourful ceremony held on 17th November 2017 evening before a packed audience at Novotel, Varun Beach, Visakhapatanam, Andhra Pradesh.   The theme of the Convention was DOMESTIC TOURISM: Explore India – One country, Many worlds.

 

During his inaugural speech Mr. Naidu elaborated the tourism potential of Andhra Pradesh  and steps taken by the Govt. to attract tourists from all over the country to see the Heritage sites, wild life, devine destinations, Beaches, nature discovery, adventure and hills & valleys.  Also spoke  about the new tourist destinations being developed for the people to come and experience Andhra Pradesh.  He also promised to make Vizag as one of  the most important tourist destinations among other five in the State.   Vizag which is often compared as Goa of the East has long beaches, many attractive places including Araku Valley and borra caves for tourists.  Andhra Pradesh was the Host State for the Convention

 

ADTOI Convention Manual was launched by the Hon’ble Chief Minister Mr. Naidu during the event and  he  also launched the ADTOI Andhra Pradesh State Chapter. 

 

ADTOI could take the Convention to Vizag mainly due to  the support of Andhra Pradesh Tourism as Host State and  also the valuable support received from  Ministry of Tourism, Govt. of India, other State Tourism Boards viz. Madhya Pradesh Tourism, Gujarat Tourism, Kerala Tourism, Jammu & Kashmir Tourism, Telangana Tourism, Delhi Tourism besides private stake holders like Maruti Udyog Ltd., Travel Boutique Online and many others

 

In their address, the Mr. Chetan Gupta,  General Secretary,  Mr. Rajat Sawhney, Vice President & Convention Chairman and Mr. P P Khanna, President, ADTOI spoke very high of the City Viskhapatanam which as per rating  is 3rd cleanest city in the Country and highlighted the tourism potential of Andhra Pradesh and assured all their support to promote the destination amongst domestic tourists all over the country.  ADTOI will work with Tour Operators Association of Andhra Pradesh and the Andhra Pradesh Tourism collectively to promote the State extensively. 

 

The inauguration was followed by throwing open the Exhibition to visitors by Hon’ble Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh.

 

The day’s proceedings concluded with a Vote of  Thanks to the Chair by Mr. Rakesh Lamba, Advisor, ADTOI

 

Day two of the Convention witnessed many activities like three Business Sessions with eminent panelists representing Ministry of Tourism, Govt. of India, State Tourism Boards of Madhya Pradesh, Jammu  & Kashmir, Gujarat, Press/Media representative and also  drawn on PAN India basis discussing various issues of the industry.   The topics were:

 

1.       Development of infrastructure for the faster growth of Tourism, Moderated by Mr. Satyajeet Rajan, Director General, Ministry of Tourism, Govt. of India

2.       India a potential destination for : MICE, WEDDING & FILM TOURISM, Moderated by Mr. Rajat Sawhney, Director, Rave Tours & Travels and Vice President/Convention Chairman

3.       New Ideas & Strategies of Growth for Tour Operation Moderated by Mr. Rakesh Lamba, Director, Prakriti Holidays and Advisor, ADTOI

State Tourism Boards  of Madhya Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir, Gujarat gave audio-visual presentation pertaining to their States as also Maruti Udyog Ltd., Travel Boutique Online of their products.

 

Pre and post Convention FAM trips were conducted for the delegates on 16th and 19th November to Sunray Resort and Araku Valley.
